Mentor Terms of Service & Pricing Policy

1. Agreement

By registering as a mentor on BeTopTen (betopten.com), you agree to these terms in their entirety. BeTopTen reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.

BeTopTen is a marketplace that connects mentees with experienced professionals for paid mentorship sessions. You are registering as an independent service provider, not as an employee or contractor of BeTopTen.

2. Code of Conduct

2.1 Professional Standards

Every session you conduct represents both your personal reputation and the BeTopTen platform. You are expected to maintain the highest level of professionalism throughout all interactions with mentees.

• Be punctual. Join sessions on time. If you cannot attend, cancel at least 24 hours in advance through the platform.
• Be prepared. Review the mentee's profile, goals, and any materials shared before the session.
• Be constructive. Provide honest, actionable feedback. Avoid vague or generic advice that does not address the mentee's specific situation.
• Be respectful. Treat every mentee with courtesy regardless of their background, experience level, or current career stage.
• Maintain confidentiality. Do not share any information discussed during sessions with third parties without explicit consent from the mentee.

2.2 Prohibited Conduct

The following actions will result in immediate suspension or permanent removal from the platform, at BeTopTen's sole discretion:

• Any form of harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour towards mentees.
• Soliciting mentees for off-platform payments or transactions to circumvent BeTopTen.
• Sharing misleading credentials or misrepresenting your professional experience.
• Providing advice that is intentionally harmful, negligent, or reckless.
• Recording sessions without the explicit consent of the mentee.
• Using the platform to promote unrelated products, services, or personal businesses.

2.3 Profile Accuracy

Your profile must accurately reflect your current role, experience, and areas of expertise. BeTopTen reserves the right to verify your credentials at any time. Profiles found to contain false or materially misleading information will be removed without notice.

3. Pricing Policy

3.1 Mentor Pricing

When you set up your profile, you set the price per session. This is your payout amount. The price you set is the amount you will receive for each completed session, regardless of what the mentee pays.

3.2 User-Facing Price

The price displayed to mentees on the platform is determined by BeTopTen independently. It may be higher or lower than the price you have set. This user-facing price is influenced by factors including but not limited to: the mentee's geographic location, cost of user acquisition, promotional campaigns, and market conditions.

While the user-facing price may differ from your set price, it will always be proportional across mentors. If your price is lower than another mentor's, the price shown to users will also be proportionally lower. This ensures fairness and consistency in how mentors are presented on the platform.

From time to time, BeTopTen may price sessions below your set price to acquire new users. In such cases, BeTopTen absorbs the difference. You will still be paid your full set price.

3.3 Commission & Platform Fees

BeTopTen earns revenue through the difference between the user-facing price and your payout price. There are no additional commission deductions, hidden fees, or platform charges deducted from your payout. Payment gateway charges are absorbed by BeTopTen.

3.4 Payouts

Payouts are processed after session completion and confirmation. Payout timelines, methods, and minimum thresholds are detailed separately in your mentor dashboard. BeTopTen reserves the right to hold payouts in cases of disputes, chargebacks, or policy violations pending resolution.

4. Tax Obligations

As an independent service provider, you are solely responsible for all tax obligations arising from income earned through BeTopTen. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Goods and Services Tax (GST) or equivalent indirect taxes applicable in your jurisdiction.
• Income tax filings and payments in your country of residence.
• Obtaining and maintaining any tax registrations required by your local laws (e.g., GSTIN for Indian mentors above the applicable turnover threshold).
• Any other statutory or regulatory tax compliance applicable to you.

The price you set on BeTopTen is inclusive of all applicable taxes. BeTopTen does not deduct, withhold, collect, or remit any taxes on your behalf. You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to determine your tax obligations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws.

BeTopTen may, in the future, be required by law to collect or deduct taxes (such as TCS under GST or TDS under Income Tax Act) from your payouts. If such requirements arise, BeTopTen will update these terms accordingly and provide advance notice. You agree to furnish any documentation (such as PAN, GSTIN, or tax residency certificates) that may be required for compliance at that time.

5. Cancellations & Refunds

5.1 Mentee Cancellations

If a mentee cancels a session more than 1 hour before the scheduled start time, no payout is generated for that session.

If a mentee cancels within 1 hour of the scheduled start time, you will receive 50% of your set session price as payout.

5.2 Mentor Cancellations

If you cancel a session, no payout is generated regardless of when the cancellation occurs. Repeated cancellations may result in reduced visibility on the platform or profile suspension.

5.3 No-Shows

If a mentee does not join the session and does not cancel, you will receive your full set session price as payout, provided you were present and available for the scheduled duration.

If you do not join a scheduled session without cancelling, this will be treated as a mentor cancellation. Repeated no-shows will result in profile suspension.

5.4 Refunds

Refund decisions for mentees are made by BeTopTen at its sole discretion and do not affect your payout for sessions that were completed in good faith.

6. Intellectual Property

Any materials, frameworks, or content you share during sessions remain your intellectual property. BeTopTen does not claim ownership of content created or shared by mentors.

By using the platform, you grant BeTopTen a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use your name, profile photo, professional title, and anonymised session statistics for marketing and promotional purposes on the platform and its channels.

7. Limitation of Liability

BeTopTen provides the platform as-is. We do not guarantee any specific volume of bookings, revenue, or mentee engagement. BeTopTen is not liable for any disputes between you and a mentee beyond facilitating resolution through the platform's dispute mechanism.

BeTopTen's total liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to these terms shall not exceed the total payouts made to you in the 3 months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You can deactivate your mentor profile through the platform. BeTopTen may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms, inactivity, or at its discretion with reasonable notice.

Upon termination, any pending payouts for completed sessions will be processed as per the standard payout schedule. Access to the platform and mentor dashboard will be revoked.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

By completing your mentor registration on BeTopTen, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
